This is Jessie J singing Domino in a relaxed setting. A few things to say about this…

    1. This should be her LOOK! Forget that Katy Perry/Lady Gaga/Nicki Minaj hybrid thing she has going on. This natural look is perfect for her, she almost glows.

    2. Her voice is spectacular. Enough said.

    3. She has an amazing charisma. She’s hanging out with her friends recording this and having a great time. You can feel how much fun they’re having through the clip.

    4. She’s real! Not uptight or stuck up. She looks like she would be a blast to hang out with.

Jessie J completely sold me with this video alone and I just wish she did things a little more natural from this point forward. Keep up the good work!

Adele - Rolling In The Deep.

Gotta love Adele’s voice. Her feel for this song is just infectious. Couldn’t pair a more perfect voice to song.

Prediction: Florence Welch to be the next Sarah McLachlan

I adore Sarah McLachlan. I think most of her work is exquisite and has pushed the bar pretty high. From her studio albums to the remixes, it’s all hard to dismiss. In the early-to-mid 2000’s especially, the remixes really stood out and transcended her to yet another musical level (granted with the help of talented DJ’s & producers). Sarah is still great all these years later, including her recent work.

I’ve just downloaded the Florence and the Machine’s album Lungs and I must say it is fantastic so far. One thing did resonate with me from Florence Welch’s voice - character. She has a unique tone and attitude that dances between anger and ecstasy.

One song in particular caught my ear and made me think “Whoa. Florence could be the next Sarah McLachlan”. That song is Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up). She might not end up being the next Sarah but she sure has the potential to get there and I’m excited to see and hear what other work Florence is creating.

Below is the song mentioned for your viewing and listening pleasure!

Hurt. Though the original song was written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails), Johnny Cash made this song his own in a very special way. I like to see this video often.

If you’ve never seen it, I encourage you to do so. Powerful video and performance.
